Featuring Your University

Between 2009-2011, the documentary team indends to visit 60 universities in 15 countries worldwide. Within the two weeks the documentary team spends in each country, we will primarily focus on two principal universities. Our roving team will also take day trips to featured universities in the area. Here, you can learn more about what we do at universities and how your university can become involved.

(Update, October 2009: During the 2009-10 academic year, we are focusing on UniLives.com and will be unavailable for documentary travel. We would still love to feature your students in the University Lives Collection and may resume filming in 2010-11. Email us with your ideas, and we may be able to work something out.)

All Universities

  • Conduct interviews with students, faculty, and administration
  • Work with student media and students in media classes before and after our visit, to produce material on students’ experience
  • Where possible, conduct workshops & seminars in academic team specialties
  • Participate in joint fundraising and grant-making to help cover universities’ expenses

Principal Universities

  • Base of operations for 5-7 days
  • Participate in a focus on student life
  • Host a public event on higher education issues

Featured Universities

  • Visited by roving team for 1-3 days

Working with the WUP

Cooperation and openness are essential for us to maintain both journalistic integrity and fairness to our host universities. All universities we work with are expected to:

  • Designate an official point of contact to arrange scheduling as well as internal and external publicity for WUP events.
  • Provide complete, free, and open access within reasonable standards of journalism
  • Work with WUP to identify focus issues for the documentary
  • Provide documentation on institutional history and current strategic focus
